โ๏ธ Getting here by air
There are three airports that serve the Kruger area. Skukuza is the most dramatic โ your transfer drives you through the Kruger National Park itself.
The closest airport and the most memorable arrival โ your transfer from Skukuza passes through the Kruger National Park, so your safari begins the moment you land. Served by Federal Air and Airlink from Johannesburg OR Tambo.
The larger regional airport near Nelspruit, with more frequent connections from Johannesburg and Cape Town. A good option if Skukuza flights don't suit your schedule. Car hire available at the airport.
South Africa's main international hub. Most guests flying from the UK or Europe arrive here first, then fly onward to Skukuza or KMIA, or hire a car for the scenic 5-hour drive through Mpumalanga.
๐ Driving from Johannesburg / Pretoria
The drive takes approximately 5 hours and is well-signposted throughout. There are 3 toll gates on the N4 โ keep cash or a card handy. The Schoemanskloof Pass section is one of the most beautiful drives in South Africa.
